Handicap Review & Adjustment
As advised in the Tournament Conditions, all scores and handicaps will be reviewed and adjusted daily. Players’ handicaps will also vary in relation to the slope rating of the course being played on each day.
The field includes both New Zealand and International golfers. In line with handicapping advice and to ensure fairness for all players, handicaps will be adjusted daily as follows:
New Zealand Players
- Scores will be entered into DotGolf daily.
- Handicap Index adjustments will occur daily
International Players
Handicap Indexes (GA Handicap) will be manually adjusted based on daily Stableford scores:
- Stableford scores 33–39:
No handicap adjustment. - Stableford scores 32 and below:
Handicap Index increased by +0.1 per point, to a maximum increase of +0.5 for the next round. - Stableford scores 40 and above
Handicap Index reduced by –0.2 per point, to a maximum reduction of –1.0 for the next round.
For ALL PLAYERS - Exceptional Score Reductions
The Tournament Committee may apply the following additional adjustments where an exceptional Stableford score is returned (refer Golf NZ Handicapping):
- 9 or more points better than playing handicap (45 points or more):
Handicap Index reduced by –2.0 for the next round.
Additional Notes
- International players’ scorecards may be submitted for handicapping in your home country at your own discretion.
- These guidelines do not preclude the Tournament Committee from making further adjustments where it is believed a player’s scores are significantly inconsistent with their original handicap.
